Dr. Sara Moslener (she/her)

Sara Moslener is a scholar, writer and Professor. She teaches in the Department of Philosophy, Religion, and Anthropology at Central Michigan University, which is located on stolen Anishinaabe land on the current home of the Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe. Sara’s research focuses on purity, sexuality, and white supremacy within American Evangelicalism. Her current research, the After Purity Project, collects stories from people who’ve grown up and out of Evangelical Purity Culture. Finally, she is the author of Virgin Nation: Sexual Purity and American Adolescence.


Liv Schultz (she/they)

Liv is an independent researcher, writer, and scholar living in Ottawa, Ontario. Liv’s research focuses on how learned affective narratives within evangelicalism and purity culture covers over the real harms, violence, and disaffection individuals experience in the movement. Liv has a full-time job as a Research and Knowledge Translation Assistant at the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health. Liv is someone who lives with chronic illness and chronic pain and these experiences inform their work.
